2016 Olympic all-around champion Simone Biles and Konnor McClain won the senior and junior all-around titles, respectively, at the 2019 GK U.S. Classic at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky.

It was the meet Konnor McClain didn’t compete at that gave her that little extra pinch of motivation going into Saturday’s GK U.S. Classic.

Nicole Desmond of Wind Gap, Pa./Parkettes National Gymnastics Center, and Rafaela O’Neill of San Jose, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center, won the 10-11 and 12-13 year-old division all-around titles, respectively, at the GK Hopes Championships today in Louisville, Ky.

Gaining experience is one of the themes of this weekend’s Classic, for Biles as well as her peloton of challengers on the U.S. Team. After a fairly quiet spring marked by World Cup appearances here and there, Saturday’s Classic marks the beginning of the season in earnest for elite women gymnasts.

On Saturday, July 20, many of the country’s top elite female gymnasts will take over the KFC Yum! Center when they compete at the 2019 GK U.S. Classic in Louisville, Ky.

On July 20, 2019, the GK U.S. Classic will make its first appearance at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky. The GK U.S. Classic features athletes competing on the junior and senior levels and is the last opportunity for female gymnasts to qualify for the U.S. Championships.

In her first competition since the 2016 Olympics Games, Biles posted the highest all-around score (58.700) by anyone in the world so far this quadrennium, along with reportedly the highest scores on the balance beam (15.200), vault (15.400) and floor exercise (14.750) this year.
