Many of the nation’s top women’s artistic gymnasts are set to face off May 21-22 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
USA Gymnastics today announced the 2021 GK U.S. Classic and corresponding GK Hopes Championships have been relocated from Hartford, Conn., to Indianapolis due to local COVID-19 restrictions and logistical challenges created by the ongoing pandemic.
USA Gymnastics announced today that it will not hold certain premier events in 2020. The deferred events include GK U.S. Classic, U.S. Gymnastics Championships (for women’s & men’s artistic gymnastics), and USA Gymnastics Championships (for rhythmic, trampoline & tumbling, and acrobatic gymnastics).
After a four-year break, the GK U.S. Classic will return to Hartford, Conn., and the XL Center on May 23.
Like any good superhero, Simone Biles didn’t forget her cape as she swept off with the women’s all-around title at the GK U.S. Classic Saturday night.

Nicole Desmond of Wind Gap, Pa./Parkettes National Gymnastics Center, and Rafaela O’Neill of San Jose, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center, won the 10-11 and 12-13 year-old division all-around titles, respectively, at the GK Hopes Championships today in Louisville, Ky.
Gaining experience is one of the themes of this weekend’s Classic, for Biles as well as her peloton of challengers on the U.S. Team. After a fairly quiet spring marked by World Cup appearances here and there, Saturday’s Classic marks the beginning of the season in earnest for elite women gymnasts.
On Saturday, July 20, many of the country’s top elite female gymnasts will take over the KFC Yum! Center when they compete at the 2019 GK U.S. Classic in Louisville, Ky.
