Pease claims junior crown at 2024 Core Hydration Classic



HARTFORD, Conn. (May 17, 2024) – Claire Pease (Sunnyvale, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) claimed junior all-around gold Friday evening at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic in XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

Pease nearly swept junior competition on Friday, securing the all-around (53.900), uneven bars (14.050) and balance beam (13.900) titles. She also won floor exercise silver (13.100) and posted a solid score on vault (12.850) to round out her all-around score.

Charleigh Bullock (Spotsylvania, Va./Capital Gymnastics National Training Center) was the all-around silver medalist with a 51.600, also earning bars silver with a 13.550. Maliha Tressel (Eagan, Minn./Twin City Twisters) turned in a three-time bronze medal-winning performance Friday night with a combined 51.250 all-around, a 12.850 on beam and tied with Greta Krob (Tipton, Iowa/IGN) for bronze on bars with a 12.800. Tyler Turner (San Jose, Calif./WOGA Gymnastics) claimed floor gold with a 13.150 and Lavi Crain (Blue Springs, Mo./Great American Gymnastics Express) vault gold with a 13.075 (13.300, 12.850).

Core Hydration Classic competition continues Saturday, May 18 with senior women’s action. Session 1 begins at 2 p.m. ET followed by Session 2 at 7 p.m. ET. The second session features Olympic, World Championships and Pan American Games team members. Session 1 will stream live on the USA Gymnastics YouTube channel while Session 2 will be broadcast live on CNBC and stream on Peacock.
