Finnell takes junior all-around crown at 2023 Core Hydration Classic

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Illinois – Kieryn Finnell (Pittsford, N.Y./RGA) took the all-around crown during junior women’s competition at the 2023 Core Hydration Classic Friday evening in Hoffman Estates.

Finnell scored a combined 52.800 to claim all-around gold ahead of Tatum Drusch (White Bear Lake, Minn./Flips Gymnastics) in second with a 51.200 and Addy Fulcher (Gastonia, N.C./Bull City Gymnastics) in third with a 51.100. Finnell also secured the balance beam title (13.300), took silver on uneven bars (13.400) and floor exercise (12.700), and tied with Great American Gymnastics Express teammates Ly Bui (Swisher, Iowa) and Lavi Crain (Blue Springs, Mo.) for sixth on vault (13.400). Ally Damelio (San Mateo, Calif./San Mateo Gymnastics) won bars with a 13.750 while Lailah Danzy (Tulsa, Okla./Pride Gymnastics Academy) and Izzy Stassi (Delaware, Ohio/Buckeye Gymnastics) tied for first on vault, both posting a score of 13.700.

The Core Hydration Classic returns tomorrow, Saturday, August 5 with senior women’s competition. The first session will begin at 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET followed by Session 2, featuring Olympic and World medalists, at 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET.
